It makes it all the more important to use words such as 'believe', and 'may' in posts which do not state something as 'factual'. While there may be genuine cases of damaging comments within certain high traffic specialist business blogs, with care most bloggers should be able to minimise their risk. However, it isn't going to guarantee that someone is not going to try to put the process in motion hoping you will settle out of court rather than go to the expense of defending yourself.
