Thanks to the interactive paradigm of Web 2.0 Anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can go online and tell everyone in the world about how he or she feels. Bloggers come from all walks of life, from the media to the science community, from teenagers to senior citizens. Everyone wants to blog and talk and express themselves with a voice.
A big pitfall of blogging, however, is a lack of privacy. But its up to you to keep expressing yourself and simultaneously staying away giving your any personal information, no matter how entertaining or informative your blog is all about. At the most, you can give your email; but always try to avoid giving details about the street on which you live, or your place of employment, or the stores that you go to regularly or any sort. Sometimes it may annoy somebody else. But your followers and friends who care about you and love to hear from you, will definitely be supportive in bringing your feelings and personal opinions up to the world.
Never disparage and whine about any of your superiors, or co-workers. And the most important lesson is never ever bring out or encourage racialism or communalism that could hurt the feelings of the others. This may be the age of free expression, but everyone deserves respect. Would you like someone to bash you on their blog and tell the rest of the world your dirty little secrets?
Avoid posting pictures of yourself. Uploading a nice headshot may not be that much harmful, but refrain yourself from uploading too many pictures of yours to avoid manipulation of photographs by placing your head on someone else’s body. You may not like your photo on a porn site.
Avoid posting pornographic pictures, or writing about sensitive issues such as hating certain races, discrimination of any kind, and violence.
Try to avoid grammatical and punctuation errors! This may seem like a useless tip, but there are hundreds of blogs(including mine) out there on the Internet that are having with such errors, and reading them can be tiring, sometimes irritating to read. Add values for your readers; write well, think well, and reason well.
